Bogeys are frustrating for just about every golfer on the planet, especially if you're Rory McIlroy. But some are better than others as the Northern Irishman discovered on day two at the WGC-HSBC Champions in China.
McIlroy raced out the blocks on day two with four consecutive birdies from the third, before handing one back at the ninth to go out in 33 shots. He then birdied the 13th before reaching what appeared serious trouble on the driveable par-4 16th.
"That's a heck of a bogey."

The World No.2 double-crossed his tee shot with a fairway wood, sending the ball well left into the trees - his golf club even went along with it as you can see in the clip above.
New ball in play and this time with an iron in hand, McIlroy found the fairway and struck a wedge to within 10 feet.
The putt looked like it was going to miss on the right side, but it snuck in the side door and McIlroy walked away with a clutch bogey save.
McIlroy then took momentum to the house by sending a long iron to within two feet of the cup at the par-5 18th for a tap-in eagle to move to 10-under par for the tournament and one stroke behind England's Matt Fitzpatrick going into the weekend.

Adam Scott, Sungjae Im and defending champion Xander Schauffele are on 9-under par, with day one leader and home favourite Haotong Li and Victor Perez back on 8-under par.
Louis Oosthuizen, fresh off his stunning hole-in-one on Thursday, sits on his own at 7-under par.
Matthias Schwab continues his impressive season despite not winning this year and he lies 6-under par with Paul Waring, while Justin Rose has it all to do from tied 11th on 5-under par alongside a host of players that includes Bubba Watson, Tony Finau and Robert MacIntyre.
England's Matt Wallace endured a nightmare round of 12-over 84 to fall from 3-under to 9-over and to 76th of 77 players in the field.
Ian Poulter withdrew following a second-round 74, citing a wrist injury. The Englishman explained on social media that he will head back to Orlando and get his wrist syringed by the doctor in a race against time to make the Nedbank Golf Challenge from November 14.
