Some viewers disgusted by fans who "booed" Matt Kuchar at Open

The beauty of major tournaments is that you get two sides of the draw. You get your golf fans who can name the last 24 Open champions, and you get those who are just checking in for the first time in about 24 months.

I fell into that trap where tennis is concerned this month, fully expecting to see Novak Djokovic installed as a 1/3 favourite for Wimbledon only to realise he'd been enduring a mare of a year and was starting the week as fourth favourite at 6/1. 

If you've not been following golf much lately, then you probably won't get the hilarious bit of banter exchange between golf crowds when Matt Kuchar holes a putt or hits a nice shot. After all, "Kuuuch!" does sound a lot like "Booo!" especially on television. 

One viewer of the Open fell into that trap as he wrote into the Daily Express to express his outrage at the heckling Kuchar was receiving as he battled eventual Open winner Jordan Spieth over the weekend at Royal Birkdale. 

And all with a smile on his face. What did Kuchar do so wrong that deserved such shocking spectator disapproval...
