Premier League and England footballers Adam Lallana and James Milner are not only top-level footballers, but they are also keen golfers and take a strong interest in up and coming players.

As reported by BBC Sport, the pair have joined White Rose Sports Management Limited which has recently signed the promising youngster Ben Schmidt, following the young man's excellent amateur career.

The 18-year-old from Rotherham was part of the recent Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team, having risen to number six in the amateur world rankings.

"We are very fortunate in the football environment," Lallana told BBC Sport.

"Even when you have bad days on the pitch, you have team-mates who bail you out. Since joining White Rose and working with Ben and the other players you can see that everything is kind of put on them.

"If we can take the pressure off them and work with them then hopefully we keep them focused on their job and just a little less responsibility for themselves."

Lallana and Milner were teammates at Liverpool before the former Southampton midfielder made a move to Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2020.

Schmidt caught the eye of the Premier League pair when he shot a superb score of 69 in the final round of the Irish Challenge on the Challenge Tour, finishing joint 12th last month.

Another one of White Rose Sports Management Limited's clients is American Johannes Veerman, who played at the US Open this week at Torrey Pines but unfortunately missed the cut on 6-over-par.

Once travel restrictions have eased, both Lallana and Milner intend to go and watch Veerman and their other clients as their involvement in golf inevitably increases in the coming years.
