LIV Golf: Tiger Woods had a helpful gallery, Joaquin Niemann had no such luck
Joaquin Niemann had to get his hands dirty to move a giant boulder during LIV Golf Jeddah, drawing comparisons to that famous Tiger Woods moment.
Tiger Woods had a legion of fans help him move a giant boulder during the 1999 Phoenix Open on the PGA Tour, but Joaquin Niemann had no such luck during the first round of LIV Golf Jeddah.
Niemann was playing the first of three rounds at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club when unfortunately his golf ball came to rest behind this giant rock.
The Chilean, 23, opted not to immediately get his hands dirty and watched on as his poor caddie tried to shift it.

But then he was left with no option to get involved. "You could do yourself some mischief there," Arlo White said on the commentary.

It clearly reminded us of the moment Woods took advantage of the helping hands in the gallery in Phoenix all those years ago.
Of course, big cat went on to make birdie. But not before shaking hands of those who had helped him out of a jam.
Niemann went on to card an opening round of 2-under 68 in Jeddah as Brooks Koepka flirted with a 59 but settled with a 62.
Although it wasn't the most spectacular day for Niemann himself, the team that he plays in - Torque GC - sit second place in the standings after the first round.

That team - which Niemann captains - comprises of Jediah Morgan, Hideto Tanihara, and Scott Vincent.
The winning team will split a bonus of $3m.
Niemann signed for the LIV Golf Tour in August. He was consistently linked with Greg Norman's tour ever since its inception.
At the time, he was the highest-ranked player under the age of 25 to sign for the LIV Golf Invitational Series for a reported nine-figure fee.

His decision meant that he was unable to participate in the 2022 Presidents Cup.
Niemann finished T-20 in the last LIV Golf event in Bangkok, picking up $174,285 in the process.
