The Masters: The stat that could prove Tiger Woods is destined to win this…

Tiger Woods might be a 40/1 shot to successfully defend his Green Jacket at The Masters this week, but if this incredible stat provided by Brandel Chamblee today is anything to go by then the bookies will be running for cover fairly sharpish.

Chamblee, who now works as a Golf Channel analyst and is a former one-time PGA Tour winner, posted a stat on Twitter today that sent Tiger fans wild. Check it out below:

"Jack Nicklaus won his 6th Masters in 1986, 23 years after his first," tweeted Chamblee.

"He was ranked 33rd in the world going into that week.

"If Tiger wins this week, it will be his 6th Masters, 23 years after his first. He is ranked 33rd in the world going into this week."

Of course stats don't guarantee anything, but it's still quite a nice one for Woods to feed off going into this week at one of his favourite courses in the world.

Woods, who is bidding to win his sixth Masters title to match the record set by Nicklaus, enters the final major of 2020 in a wretched run of form with just a tie for 37th his best result (US PGA Championship) in his last seven PGA Tour events.

The former World No.1 also missed the cut in his last major at the US Open.
