Shocking footage emerges of Mercedes smashing into golf club pro shop

Three people were taken to hospital after a Mercedes crashed into the pro shop at Brae Burn Country Club in West Newton, Massachusetts, over the weekend.

Footage from the incident, which you can watch below, shows a white Mercedes smashing through the building at the golf club on Fuller Street on Saturday, leaving part of the pro shop wall badly damaged.

Newton Police confirmed officers responded to the crash and said the driver, along with two Brae Burn Country Club employees, were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

No serious injuries were reported following the collision.

The impact caused significant damage to the pro shop, with part of the wall subsequently boarded up. 

Police confirmed a city engineer attended the scene to assess the structural damage.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

However, police said the incident does not currently appear to have been criminal in nature, while alcohol is not believed to have played a role.

It is not yet clear what caused the driver to lose control of the Mercedes or whether any other factors contributed to the collision.

Brae Burn Country Club, located in Newton, Massachusetts, is a historic private golf club featuring an 18-hole course and clubhouse facilities.

The incident occurred at the pro shop, rather than on the golf course itself, and there have been no reports of golfers being injured.

Police have not indicated that charges are expected at this stage.

The investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains ongoing.
