U.S. Amateur 2026: Round of 16 Results and Quarter-Finals Tee Times at Merion
U.S. Amateur 2026: Eight players remain in the hunt for the famous Havemeyer Trophy.
England's Jack Whaley is the only Brit left standing at the 2026 U.S. Amateur after a dramatic Round of 16 at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
Whaley continued his impressive run on Thursday, beating Christian Cavaliere 4&3 to reach the quarter-finals.
The 60th seed, ranked around 90th in the world amateur rankings, has been one of the standout stories of the championship so far.
He now faces a major test against Morocco's Adam Bresnu, the 29th seed and world No. 30 amateur.
Bresnu was also impressive in the last 16, defeating 20th seed Max Herendeen 5&4.

The most dramatic match of the day saw Logan Reilly defeat Ryder Cowan on the second extra hole, with the 11th seed eventually prevailing after 20 holes.
There were also major upsets, with second seed Tyler Watts narrowly losing to 15th seed Jay Leng Jr, while third seed Drake Harvey was beaten by 19th seed Michael Lugiano.
