Complete set of TAVA clubs

Deborah Keys, a physics teacher and mother of two, from Stirling is the winner of the set of Mizuno TAVA clubs we offered to those who took part in our women’s survey in October.

She plans to take up golf again after a ten year break while her young children – Lucy (7) and Cameron (5) – were growing up and hopes to join 16-handicap husband Stuart as a member at Bridge of Allan GC.

"This is just the incentive I need," a delighted Deborah (40) told me when I broke the news. "I had to give up the game when I got pregnant and was always determined to give it another go.

"Cameron is already showing signs of a good swing since I’ve taken him to the municipal range at Brucefield," said Deborah, who teaches at Dollar Academy and is a former university rower.

"I’m really looking forward to getting the clubs and hopefully will be able to have them custom-fitted by Mizuno," added Deborah who finds Golfmagic a mine of information and enjoys following the banter on the forum.

"I’m also a member of a forum for physics teachers which has also proved very useful in the exchange of ideas."

Her prize is a full set of Mizuno’s new TAVA clubs aimed at those with slower swings and with a wider than normal gap between lofts – up to five degrees - in a set.

The 11-clubs in the range include a 14-degree driver, a choice of four fairway metals, two utility clubs and six irons (6-PW).

Said Stuart Keys: "She’s a very lucky lady and I’m very envious."
