Nike Golf launches new Hyperadapt Storm-FIT Jacket

TWELVE months on from the launch of the Hyperadapt Storm-FIT jacket which has been designed with direct input from our Tour athletes, Nike Golf is delighted had announced improved performance and a new season of colours.

The jacket has been designed to move with the athletes’ swing, and the result is an enhanced product that offers no restriction, regardless of swing speed. The Hyperadapt Storm-FIT jacket combines this level of flexibility with ultimate waterproof protection.

The Nike roster of athletes will have tournament access to the new jacket and accompanying pants at this week’s Open Championship, the third Major of the year. Should the weather take a turn for the worse, the tour staff will be kept dry on the course, without sacrificing their performance levels.

"Receiving validation from the players is crucial for us," said Jason Wade, Apparel Business Director, Nike Golf EMEA. "Understanding what the best athletes want from a product helps us to improve the performance for all golfers.

"This jacket is all about movement – it allows the athlete their full range of motion, unrestricted. The guys on Tour will benefit from it, but so will the club golfer.

"We hear consumers say they don’t like wearing waterproofs, because they often restrict movement resulting in reduced distance. The Hyperadapt Storm-FIT jacket allows the golfer to hit the ball as far as they would without a jacket. In order to experience this technology, there are 300 trial stations across Europe where the consumer can try the jacket.

"These accounts have a full size run of jackets, for both men and women, and we invite golfers to try the jacket on at the range. We think they will be blown away with the feel, and performance of the jacket – it’s the same as playing in a polo shirt, but obviously with the waterproof protection," Wade added.

With no-sew technology throughout the inner layer, designers minimised chaffing and added a new stretch component to the garment. A 4-way stretch system added to the shoulders and arms maximises mobility and eliminates restrictions during the swing.

This woven, stretch knit laminate combination provides a quiet garment during the swing and a sweater-like feel for comfort and protection at every angle.

"The other thing golfers will notice if they take part in the Trial Station programme is that unlike some other waterproofs, they won’t need to buy a bigger size. If you are a Large in a Nike Golf Polo, you will be a Large in a Hyperadapt Storm-FIT jacket," commented Wade.

Along with a comfortable fit and enhanced mobility, the Hyperadapt jacket is breathable and seam sealed for 100% waterproof protection and has a lifetime guarantee. Adjustable cuffs offer a custom fit for increased protection and even less distraction giving athletes an advantage with every detail.
