Wyndham Clark could be on verge of huge new deal for 2027

The two-time major champion has made wholesale changes to his golf bag, with one manufacturer now supplying almost every club in his setup.

Wyndham Clark's golf bag is beginning to look very different – and a major equipment deal for 2027 could be on the horizon.

The two-time US Open champion has undergone a remarkable equipment overhaul, with PING now supplying almost every club in his bag.

In fact, there is just one outsider left.

Clark is still using a TaylorMade driver, but everything else in his setup at last week's Mexico Open carried the PING name.

That's quite the statement from a player who started 2026 as an equipment free agent outside his Titleist golf ball agreement.

The timing is interesting, too. Clark has enjoyed a superb 2026 campaign, winning three times on the PGA Tour, including another US Open title, while also helping the United States secure Presidents Cup glory at Medinah Country Club.

Those wins have helped him surge to a current fifth in the world.

Despite having every reason to put his feet up this off-season, he has instead been busy testing new equipment.

"Yeah, everyone's asking me why I'm playing so much," Clark explained at last week's Mexico Open.

"I kind of like it keeps you sharp, doing some club testing."

He certainly wasn't kidding.

PING takeover: Just one club from another manufacturer remains

Clark has made some significant additions to his bag, including a PING iDi driving iron, PING i240 irons from 5-iron through to 9-iron, and PING S259 wedges.

They join his existing PING G440 Max 3-wood and 5-wood, as well as the Scottsdale TEC Ally Blue Onset putter that has played a major role in his successful season.

His only non-PING club is the TaylorMade Qi4D driver.

Interestingly, Clark's relationship with PING is nothing new. His move to the company's Scottsdale TEC putter in April appears to have been the starting point for a much bigger equipment transition.

PING putter switch has transformed Clark's season

Clark introduced the Scottsdale TEC Ally Blue Onset following the Texas Children's Houston Open in April, and the results have been impressive.

At the time, he was languishing in 147th position in the PGA Tour's Strokes Gained: Putting rankings. He has since climbed all the way to 36th.

His custom putter features PING's distinctive black-on-white finish, a 17-inch SuperStroke Zenergy 3.0 grip and a 38-inch shaft.

Clark has previously explained just how much of a difference the switch has made.

"Since switching to the PING Scottsdale TEC Ally Blue Onset putter in April, I've seen significant improvement in my putting and I credit the new putter for helping me get back in the winner's circle," he said.

The white finish initially caught his attention, but it was the alignment features that ultimately won him over.

"I'd never used a putter with onset before, so it was a new look for me that really matches my eye.

"The onset combined with the top-rail dot simplifies alignment and my consistency has improved. I'm sinking more long putts than ever."

Given the improvement in his putting numbers, it is easy to understand why Clark has continued exploring PING's wider equipment range.

Could Clark become a PING staff player in 2027?

The obvious question now is whether Clark will eventually ditch his TaylorMade driver and complete an all-PING setup.

There are certainly signs pointing towards an increasingly close relationship.

He now has PING woods, a driving iron, a full set of irons, wedges and a putter in his bag. Only the driver stands between him and an entirely PING setup.

Of course, that does not automatically mean a full equipment agreement is imminent. Tour professionals regularly mix and match manufacturers, and performance will always come first.

However, given the extent of Clark's recent changes, a move onto PING's professional staff for 2027 would hardly come as a surprise.

His latest equipment additions also suggest the putter switch was potentially just the beginning.

GolfMagic contacted PING for comment on the possibility of a wider equipment agreement, but the company declined to provide any further information at this stage.

For now, the TaylorMade Qi4D remains in the bag.

But with just one club separating Clark from an all-PING setup, all eyes will be on his equipment choices heading into 2027.
