RAC irons from TaylorMade

Prolific TaylorMade continues to pummel the market with new clubs, determined to build on their success as the leading supplier of irons to the European Tour in 2002.

Hot on the heels of its RAC wedges and oversize irons the company's latest introductions are lower trajectory (LT) and muscleback (MB) irons, to be revealed at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida, on January 23.

The LT irons (RRP £649/steel shaft, £749 graphite shaft) are designed to produce a low launch angle and medium-height trajectory. Available from 2-iron to SW, left and right-handed with six shaft options. They're expected here in May.

The smaller-headed MB irons (price and unveiling in Europe yet to be announced) are coin-forged with a forward centre of gravity to help the top players ‘work’ their shots. Sergio Garcia, Rich Beem and K.J. Choi are already using them.

They’re offered from 1-iron to PW (right-handed only), with five available shaft flexes in Flighted Rifle steel.

TaylorMade also has a new FE203 ‘rusty’ finish RAC wedge on its way (£140 approx) and a V Steel fairway wood to minimize turf-resistance at impact (from2- to 9-wood). Expected price about £240.
