There are several options you can consider when getting into golf for the first time. While many of us start with second hand clubs or build up our sets up gradually one or two clubs at a time, others go for the full on club-fitting with brand new, top-of-the range gear from day one.

Another way is buying a value package for under £300 that includes selected irons and woods, a putter and a bag - and that's why Ram has launched its FX G-Force set, designed for beginner and improving golfers.

As well as a 460cc driver, stainless steel 3- and 5-wood and two hybrid rescue clubs, the set includes cavity-backed irons (5-SW) and a Zebra mallet putter.

The woods are both accurate and forgiving, while the hybrids are designed as options from the tee, fairway and rough. The oversize irons offer an extended sweetspot for greater playability and forgiveness.

Completing the set is either a full-featured Ram stand or trolley bag and matching head covers.

Available in both graphite and steel shaft options in the irons, the FX G-Force is also available in a lightweight women's version (6-SW) and comes in both left hand and right hand options.
Price of the Ram FX G-Force graphite/ladies package is £299.99. The steel set is  £279.99.
