Leon lands Big Break Atlantis

Mexican receives LPGA invite and $50,000 cash

Leon lands Big Break Atlantis

Marcela Leon defeated Selanee Henderson in the season finale of Golf Channel’s ‘Big Break Atlantis’ earlier in the week.

Contested at the Ocean Club Golf Course in the Bahamas, Leon established her authority from the outset by building her lead to 4 up after nine holes, before running out a commanding 5&4 victory.

“I’ve worked hard through the years but for some reason, I haven’t been able to achieve my goal,” said Leon, who receives an invitation to compete at the 2012 LPGA Kingsmill Championship in September, as well as $50,000 in cash.

“This just makes it better and everything sweeter. This makes all of the hard work, all of the frustrations, worth it. I am just so thankful.”

The 31-year-old also receives an Adams Golf endorsement contract, which includes $10,000 in cash, $10,000 shopping spree, $10,000 car rental credit and a return trip for two to Paradise Island.
