Parnevik signs for Wilson

Padraig Harrington’s Ryder Cup colleague Jesper Parnevik has joined him as a Wilson Staff player. Under the three-year deal, the Swede will play Wilson’s Staff True golf ball, Deep Red II irons, Pro Fit golf glove and carry the Chicago-based company’s Tour bag.

"Three years ago we made a decision to concentrate our efforts and budget to increasing the Wilson advisory staff at the local level and now have more than 3,000 staff professionals," says Jim Baugh general manager of Wilson Golf.

"And with exciting new products designed specifically for the better player, it’s time to increase Wilson’sexposure on the PGA Tour."

Parnevik, a five-time Tour winner previously under contract with Callaway, recalls: "I played Wilson before I turned pro. This is like a homecoming.

"I love the way the new True ball performs. It’s longer than what I have played and it bores through the air better. And, the new Deep Red II Irons are sweet and very forgiving."
