Sunningdale Foursomes

Head down to sleepy Surrey and witness some good old fashioned foursomes matchplay

Sunningdale Foursomes

Today sees the first round of the Annual Sunningdale Foursomes Tournament at both the Old and New Courses at Sunningdale Golf Club in Surrey.

The Club celebrates its centenary year this year and welcomes the arrival of some of the top amateurs in the World playing alongside some well known professional faces. South Africa's Tony Johnstone, Irishman Paul McGinley, The Head Twins, Samantha and Johanna, Richard Boxall and Derrick Cooper are all participating in the historical alternate shot event.

There is no better course for viewing on a sunny spring day, so if you can manage a few hours out of the office, head for Surrey and watch some spectacular golf and maybe a few surprising victories by the Amateur players.

Last year, Sunningdale lost the right to host the Solheim Cup to the Loch Lomond Club near Glasgow, but have been duly reimbursed by The European Tour and will host the Inaugural Seve Ballesteros Trophy next month.

Full coverage will be right here on Golfmagic as it happens.
