Golfers are being trolled by a huge sphere in Las Vegas

Teeing off in front of a crowd is bad. Teeing off in front of a 112-metre smiling sphere that will troll you is even worse.

The new Las Vegas Sphere is a spectacle of modern architecture. The 112-metre-tall building is entirely covered by 1.2 million LED pucks, which work together, allowing anything from the sun to an eyeball to be screened on the exterior.

The marvel needs to be seen to be believed, and now golfers at Wynn Las Vegas, one of America's most expensive courses, have a front-row seat to look straight at it. Amusingly, it also looks straight back.

Not only is it now a prominent fixture on the course's landscape, but it also appears to have been programmed to troll golfers as they tee off.

In a video shared by Joey Coldcuts on Instagram, the sphere, which had a yellow face showing on it at the time, appeared to be looking on with curiosity as the Instagram influencer slashed his ball off the tee

The $2.3 billion dollar building has already caused quite a stir online, with hundreds of thousands of videos of it being shared across Twitter, Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.

While the majority of golfers enjoy the game for its ability to remove you from the hustle and bustle of modern life and envelop you in natural beauty, we can foresee the Sphere's prominence on the Wynn Las Vegas skyline becoming somewhat of a cult classic, with influencers from around the world queuing up to pay $600 for their chance to capture a similar moment for their fans.

Whether or not it will appeal to the golf purists remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: the members at Wynn Las Vegas better like it, as it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
