A much‑loved Sheffield golf course has been left devastated after brazen motorbike vandals tore up its pristine greens, causing an estimated £40,000 worth of damage.

Concord Park Golf Course has been targeted repeatedly over several nights, with South Yorkshire Police believing the offenders are entering via Oaks Fold Road.

This latest incident is part of a worrying pattern as the club says it has endured multiple attacks and even clubhouse break‑ins in the past six months.

Earlier this season, GolfMagic was also alerted to quad bike vandals causing in the region of £100,000 worth of damage at an Essex club.

South Yorkshire Police have made it clear the motorbike vandalism at the par-67, 18-hole Concord Park GC is no harmless prank.

“This is not kids having fun,” a spokesperson said. “These are criminals targeting a legitimate business.”

Upon looking at the damage provided by South Yorkshire police, the destruction to the course is extensive.

Pristine, tournament‑ready greens have been churned into mud tracks, making them unplayable for weeks or even months.

The repairs alone will cost thousands, but the club is also bracing for a huge loss of revenue while the grass recovers.

Staff and members are said to be heartbroken.

Maintaining a golf course takes countless hours of work, and the attacks have undone months of dedication in minutes.

In a public plea, Concord Park GC said:

“Angry isn’t the word. What’s the point of this? We need your help. Please stop this pointless damage – it’s costing us time, money, and our ability to give people a course they can enjoy.”

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Witnesses or those with CCTV and dashcam footage from the area are asked to contact 101 or report online quoting crime reference 14/137106/25.

Without urgent action, these senseless acts of vandalism could permanently damage one of Sheffield’s most valued community sporting venues – a place that has served local golfers for generations.
