Junior Golfers shoot 59!!!
Three junior golfers scored golf’s magic number 59 today in the Golfmagic.com National Junior Masters 2000 at Wycombe Heights Golf Club in Buckinghamshire today.

Tyrrell Hatton, 8, Nathan MacFarlane, 8 and Max Williams, 9, all recorded 59’s around the perfect par three venue to tie for the lead and force a playoff for Britain’s biggest Junior Golf Tournament for ages 12’s and under. Junior Golfers shoot 59!!!

While the golf was stunning from every tot that played, the extra time gave as much entertainment as the recent USPGA battle between Tiger Woods and Bob May.

Local favourite Tyrrell ‘Tiger’ Hatton (pictured left) from nearby Marlow wooed the 100-strong crowd with a thrilling display of chipping and putting to secure his victory like his hero Woods did at Valhalla last week. Junior Golfers shoot 59!!!

Hatton opened with two pars to take the advantage going into the last hole as his playing partners both dropped shots and with the large crowd surrounding the last green, the pressure was on them all.

But the crowd could not have been entertained better had Woods been there himself as Hatton played the shot of the day, “a punched 8-iron”, to within inches of the cup to secure a birdie two, the victory and the coveted Junior Green Jacket as is the customary prize to the winner. MacFarlane claimed the second overall spot with a 2-over par return in the playoff and Williams was an unlucky third, finding himself in breach of the rules as he forgot to replace his ball marker on the first green. Junior Golfers shoot 59!!!

Top of the girls was defending champion Rachel Drummond, 10, (pictured) who played remarkable golf around the fast running course with a 68 to edge out Victoria Harris, 12, by three shots. Junior Golfers shoot 59!!!
