Bryson DeChambeau RIPS BOMBS one after another on Masters range!

If you thought Bryson DeChambeau might revise his game plan for Augusta National following his disappointing tie for 34th at the 2020 Masters in November, you would be very wrong. Well, certainly judging by his Monday range session at least.

DeChambeau, who regularly hits a 140 mph swing speed and 211 mph ball speed out on the PGA Tour this season, was seen unleashing quick driver bombs on the Masters range in front of his launch monitor.

Former Masters champion Vijay Singh stopped his own range session to watch in admiration in the next bay.

"He's hit more balls in a minute than Fred Couples did in an hour," said one of the commentators in the booth.

According to Cobra Golf, the PGA Tour's biggest hitter is testing a prototype Cobra RADSPEED driver in 5 degrees at Augusta National.

DeChambeau said before the last Masters in November that he was treating the golf course as a par-67, and that did not sit particularly well with his peers or golf critics - especially when he went on to finish just inside the top 40.

The lacklustre performance for DeChambeau was ultimately a result of poor driving and being out of position on a number of holes. So much so, he narrowly made the cut line before improving slightly over the weekend.

But the reigning US Open champion arrives at Augusta this week in peak form following a recent victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, followed by a tie for third at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

DeChambeau, who has vaulted up to World No.5, has played at Augusta National four times in his career, once as an amateur and three times as a professional.

He finished low amateur when finishing tied 21st in 2016, and he has finished tied 38th, 29th and 34th in his last three appearances.

DeChambeau lines up as the second favourite at 11/1, behind last November's Masters champion and World No.1 Dustin Johnson, who is 9/1.
