Jordan Spieth hits SENSATIONAL shot out the rough in match against Matthew…

Jordan Spieth hit one of the best approach shots you will see all year at the first hole of his match against Matthew Wolff in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

The match between the American duo is one of the most exciting head-to-heads for Thursday's action at Austin Country Club, but both players made a mess of their tee shots at the very first hole.

Wolff went first and blocked his drive out to the right, landing next to bins and a picnic table which all needed moving so he could play his next.

Spieth went the opposite way, snap-hooking his drive into the trees on the left, although the former World No.1 could then be heard suggesting a camera went off at the top of his backswing.

It looked as though Spieth's chances of hitting the green were impossible, with a tree straight in his line, while you could see the pin tucked away at the back-left of the green.

Spieth then produced a moment of pure magic, hitting a chasing shot from right-to-left, rolling perfectly onto the green to leave a chance at making a birdie.

As you can see from the clip, Wolff's approach shot was pretty good too, but neither player was able to take advantage of their impressive seconds and settled for a par.

"Jordan’s shot was one of the best approaches I’ve seen this year," said one golf fan in response to the video posted by the PGA Tour on Twitter.
