Max Homa came of age in 2022 as he broke into the world's top 20, made his debut at the Presidents Cup and won for the fifth time on the PGA Tour.

Homa earned four points for the successful Team USA against the Internationals at Quail Hollow in September, just a week after he won the Fortinet Championship for the second year running.

But the most special moment of his year, and presumably his life came on October 30, when his wife Lacey gave birth to their first son Cam.

"We are so happy and on the long road to recovery. Thank u to everyone who has reached out to help. It means the world to us. We are already so in love with him," Homa wrote on Instagram on November 1.

Homa's most recent appearance on Tour came at the QBE Shootout where he came tied for fourth with his good pal Kevin Kisner. He is set to tee it up at the Sentry Tournament of Champions this week.

Kisner jokingly expressed his frustration at Homa ignoring his FaceTime calls in the lead-up to Cam's birth. Homa's head was elsewhere for good reason.

The 32-year-old has been grinding hard ahead of the new season, as per footage posted on Twitter on New Year's Eve by his fellow Tour colleague and Arizona resident Andrew Putnam.

"300 days of sunshine in Phoenix and this dude @maxhoma23 practising when it’s 50 degrees and raining out. That’s what new fatherhood will do to you. You’ll do anything to get out the house some days," Putnam said, with a video of Homa wrapped up on the driving range.

Homa responded with the classic line from Happy Gilmore: "364 more days til the next hockey tryouts. I got to toughen up." Whether it's fatherhood or the quest for more Tour glory, the grind never stops for Homa.

He also won the Wells Fargo Championship for the second time in May and in total, he made five top-10's including a tied fifth finish at the Tour Championship.
