Tiger Woods might not be qualified to compete in this week's 64-man WGC Match Play Championship at Austin Country Club, but when we think of this tournament here at GolfMagic.com, we just can't help but flashback to Tiger's opening round match in 2006.

On the eve of the matchplay event (which back then was a straight knockout tournament), Woods' first round opponent Stephen Ames - who had only won once on the PGA Tour prior to the fixture - started the trash-talk a couple of days early.

Ames was asked by the media about his chance of causing a round one shock, to which the Canadian replied: "Anything can happen, especially where he's hitting it."

We'll just leave this video here to show you exactly what happened...
