Max Homa Biography

John Maxwell "Max" Homa is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour

Homa was born in Burbank, California on 19 November 1990 to John Homa and Bonnie Millstein

He has one sibling, a sister called Maddie.

Homa got into the game because of his father. He grew up playing golf at Vista Valencia Golf Club.

In interviews, Homa attributed the fact that it is a public golf course was one of the primary reasons why he fell in love with the game.

He had a promising junior career as he represented Southern California in the Junior America's Cup.

Homa also reached the quarterfinals of the coveted U.S. Amateur, ultimately losing out to Byeong Hun An.

He was accepted into the University of California, Berkeley on a scholarship where he honed his game.

In 2013 he won the NCAA Division 1 Men's Golf Championship.

Homa turned professional in 2013 and as of December 2022 has won five times on the PGA Tour. He made his debut at the Frys.com Open and finished T-9.

Homa has had to work extremely hard to achieve success. He lost his PGA Tour card in 2015 and in 2017.

In 2018 he regained his PGA Tour card for the 2019 season and has never looked back.

In May 2019, Homa captured his first PGA Tour victory at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Homa has represented the U.S. in two team events.

He was part of the 2013 Walker Cup side as well as the 2022 Presidents Cup team where he won all four matches he was involved in.

His goal is to make it to the Ryder Cup

As of December 2022, Homa had earned $15,000,117 in PGA Tour earnings.

Homa is married to Lacey Croom. The couple welcomed their first child, Cameron, in November 2022.

He later joked they named him after PGA Tour player Cameron Young

They live in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Outside of golf, Homa is a huge sports fan. His favourite teams are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

An interesting fact about Homa is that he met his caddie - Joe Greiner - growing up.

His net worth in 2022 was believed to be in the region of $4m, but this would have been boosted by his finish at the Tour Championship at East Lake and his bonus from the PGA Tour's Player Impact Program, where scooped $3m.

Homa's hero growing up was Tiger Woods

Homa is endorsed by Titleist. He is sponsored by Burns & Wilcox and Fortinet.
