In similar colour choice and patterns to the FJ SoftJoys and Nike Heritage in this showcase, the Hi-Tec CDT represent a decent alternative as it's ion-mask enhanced.

Golfers cannot see or feel the ion-mask coating, which is a protective polymer layer one thousand times thinner than a human hair. In contact with ion-mask, water forms beads and simply rolls off, instead of being absorbed by the fabric of the shoe.

This stops water getting in from outside and, crucially, also maintains the natural airflow of the shoe material permitting perspiration to escape.

The comfortable CDT shoe features full grain leather, a phylon midsole and X5 outsole featuring rollbar, traction lugs, new CDT cleats and Q-Lok Receptacles.

It comes with a one-year waterproof warranty.

Verdict

By all means a solid enough golf shoe for the budget golfer but it's difficult to believe these will prove popular with too many players given the similarly-designed FJ SoftJoys and Nike Heritage come at the same price point.
