Several LIV Golf players competing in the second stage of DP World Tour Q School have failed to secure their places at the Final Stage, with Yosuke Asaji, Michael La Sasso and Sam Horsfield among those falling short.

The Final Stage takes place at INFINITUM Golf in Tarragona from November 6-11, with 156 players set to battle over six rounds for 15 DP World Tour cards and full HotelPlanner Tour status for the 2027 season.

Asaji, who progressed through the First Stage of qualifying in August and September, came agonisingly close to advancing.

The Japanese golfer finished on 12-under-par for the week, securing a tie for 21st place, but missed out on the Final Stage by just one shot.

La Sasso, meanwhile, was unable to replicate the form that saw him win the 2026 LIV Golf Indianapolis event earlier this season.

The American finished tied for 64th at Desert Springs Golf Club in Almeria, leaving him well short of the qualifying positions.

Sam Horsfield also failed to progress after entering Q School at the second stage.

The Englishman carded a three-under-par total to finish in a share of 52nd at Isla Canela Links in Huelva.

Luis Masaveu initially thought he had missed out, but made it through as first alternate.

The Spaniard was involved in a Monday playoff at Golf Las Pinaillas in Albacete to determine the final four qualifying places.

However, he received an email indicating that he could be included in the Final Stage as an alternate.

Masaveu's former Fireballs teammate Jose Luis Ballester will also be teeing it up at INFINITUM, despite taking an unusual route to the Final Stage.

The Spaniard initially entered First Stage qualifying before withdrawing from the Second Stage.

However, the DP World Tour confirmed to Today's Golfer that Ballester has secured an exemption as an affiliate member.

The full entry list for the Final Stage is expected to be released shortly.

What is the format of DP World Tour Q School Final Stage?

A total of 156 players will compete over six rounds across INFINITUM's Lakes and Hills courses between November 6 and 11.

The opening four rounds will see players complete two rounds on each course before the cut is made.

The leading 65 or 70 players, depending on the final arrangements, will advance to the final two rounds on the Lakes Course.

The 15 players and ties who finish highest will earn DP World Tour playing opportunities, alongside full HotelPlanner Tour status for the 2027 season.

Any ties for the final available tour cards will be settled by a play-off, meaning the stakes will remain high until the very last putt.

With several established professionals still in the field, the Final Stage promises to be a significant test for those chasing a return to the DP World Tour or looking to secure their playing status for next season.
