BMW PGA Championship: Which big names missed the cut at Wentworth?

The BMW PGA Championship will continue this weekend at Wentworth Club without some big names. 

After 36 holes of the DP World Tour's flagship event, America's Ryan Gerard has surged into the lead. 

Gerard, who is making his debut at the prestigious Rolex Series event, is on 12-under, two clear of former Masters champion Adam Scott and Italy's Filippo Celli. 

England's Aaron Rai, who won the PGA Championship earlier in the summer, is three shots back. 

Pre-tournament favourite Rory McIlroy birdied the final two holes of his second round to reach 8-under par.

McIlroy is attempting to win the tournament for the second time in his career, having won here in 2014. 

Several big names won't be around on moving day, however. 

GolfMagic has decided to take a look at the big names who won't be teeing it up on moving day.

Jon Rahm +11

Rahm produced an inexplicable performance at Wentworth, shooting rounds of 78 and 77 for an 11-over total. 

The score of 155 represents his worst 36-hole score in 253 starts as a professional. 

What's going on with Rahmbo?

Tommy Fleetwood +3

Fleetwood was on an incredible run of just one missed cut in his last 66 DP World Tour starts. 

But that came to an end at the 2026 BMW PGA Championship.

Like Rahm, Fleetwood looked out of sorts and couldn't get anything going. 

Brooks Koepka +1

Another heavyweight. 

Koepka was playing the DP World Tour's flagship event on an invite from the tournament sponsor. 

But the five-time major champion won't be sticking around for the weekend after posting rounds of 73 and 72.
