Bryson DeChambeau says an AI training tool he has been helping develop will "change the game" from an instructive standpoint.

DeChambeau made the declaration after the second round of LIV Golf's stop in Adelaide.

The 2024 U.S. Open champion joined biometrics startup Sportsbox AI last July.

Their goal is to create a smart, AI-assisted golf training coach that ordinary players, not just elite golfers, can use on a smartphone.

It will give real-time insights and feedback, effectively brining high-end swing analysis and coaching to everyone.

"I've got something coming that I can't wait to have," DeChambeau said, adding he's hopeful to have it by 5 March for LIV Golf Hong Kong.

"And it'll be something that greatly improves my iron play and wedges. We'll see. You never know."

DeChambeau said he's instructed his golf coach, Dana Dahlquist, to also get involved in its development. "I'm pumped about it," he said.

"It'll be incredibly helpful in dire times of need to be even more specific than pretty much any coach out there.

"It's right on the cusp of changing the game of golf from an instruction standpoint. I'm really pumped about that."

Despite topping his driver in round one, DeChambeau recovered to take the lead after 18 holes at LIV Golf Adelaide.

The American carded a 67 on Friday, but trails leader Jon Rahm but two strokes heading into the weekend.

"If I play my good type of golf, I know I can definitely go low," DeChambeau said.

"It's really going to depend on a couple good breaks coming every three or four holes hopefully and then just continuing to execute good shots.

"With it rolling everywhere, it can go to some crazy places, so staying patient is key.

"If I can keep rolling it well and hitting my irons and wedges a little bit better, I think I'll give myself a shot this weekend and put some pressure on Jon and hopefully make him feel some pressure coming down the stretch."

DeChambeau added: "It's going to be a good battle no matter what, and maybe it's somebody from behind, as well. You never know.

"That's the thing about this golf course. I saw Ben Campbell on nine-under; I'm like, I didn't see that out there today, especially with the wind just flipping around.

"It's diabolical, and there's a bunch of great players out here, and the fields are getting stronger.

"The level of play is definitely increased. I can tell you that. From last week to this week, I'm not expecting some of these scores out here. It's pretty impressive."
