Jon Rahm holed out for eagle at the 18th to snatch a share of the lead with Bryson DeChambeau ahead of the final round of LIV Golf Adelaide.

The two-time major champion's electric two on the par-four 18th at The Grange lifted the Spaniard to a 54-hole score of 19-under par.

He will play in the final group alongside the 2024 U.S. Open champion, who thrilled the Australian crowd with an eight-under 64.

Anthony Kim, Peteir Uihlein, Tyrrell Hatton and home hopes Cameron Smith and Lucas Herbert are also inside the top-10 with 18 holes remaining.

"I would say it might be the most impressive thing I've done all week, which is pull it that far left twice, hit the cart path twice, and end up on the 10th tee twice," Rahm told reporters of his eagle. "The odds of that are pretty low."

He added: "It was a really good number, 62 meters into the wind, trying to land it about six, seven short.

"Obviously executed it pretty well, and the rest is what you all saw. I'm not really expecting to make it.

"I'm hoping to hit it close, but obviously ended up with the grand prize on that one."

DeChambeau said: "It's going to be a good battle tomorrow. We're going to have some fun.

"We're going to hit some good golf shots, hopefully hit more fairways. Other than that, it's going to be a lot of fun tomorrow. Going to give it all we have."

Former PGA Tour star turned golf's yeti, Kim, is five strokes behind the duo.

It will take something extremely special from the American if he is to catch the leaders.

But the fact he is contending has surprised many. The 40-year-old returned to professional golf in late 2024 after a 12-year absence from the sport.

He spent more than a decade battling anxiety and addiction and critics suggested his more to LIV was nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Kim was relegated from LIV Golf last season but won his spot back in January at LIV's promotions event held in the United States.

In recent weeks he has begun to show signs he could get back to his best.

He was expected to play the entire season as a wildcard but was signed by Dustin Johnson's 4Aces side at the 11th hour to fill the spot vacated by Patrick Reed after he decided to follow in Brooks Koepka's footsteps and quit LIV.

"What an incredible story, first off," DeChambeau said of Kim.

"Going from the lowest of lows, almost moving away from this earth and then coming back and really taking accountability and raising his little girl and being a family man and being one per cent better every day.

"It's an inspiring story that I think honestly should have a lot more media attention than it does. It deserves that."

DeChambeau added: "I think that's what's so brilliant about it is you've got a guy like that that's struggled pretty much his entire career, and this is really when he has become more of himself than any other time, more of a family man, a father, a great person that cares deeply about playing good golf now.

"That's all he cares about, and he loves it. I think that's really inspiring for anybody at any age, that you can pick it up and be a better person."

Rahm said: "I was able to enjoy a car ride back [with Kim] to the hotel from the golf course in Riyadh, which somehow there's traffic at midnight there, so it was quite a bit over an hour, and he shared quite a bit of his story with me.

"What he's doing is nothing short of remarkable.

"I really hope he can find the right person to tell his story, however form, movie, documentary series, book, whatever it is, because what he's doing is so impressive.

"I played in Singapore in his first season with him early on.

"Both of us played with him here last year in the first round, and I played with him yesterday, and the progression, the jump from those two times to yesterday, it's impressive."

Meanwhile, Rahm's Legion XIII are leading the team aspect on 45-under, five strokes clear of Cameron Smith's Ripper.

Johnson's 4Aces are in third on 38-under.
