Louis Oosthuizen has withdrawn from the final round of LIV Golf Andalucia after suffering a back injury that prevented him from competing at full capacity.

The South African, who captains Southern Guards GC, confirmed the setback himself, explaining that the injury forced him to step away from the tournament before the final round.

He announced the news on social media, noting that he would be unable to continue and would be replaced in the field.

Australia’s Wade Ormsby will step in as his replacement.

Oosthuizen had been well off the leading pace heading into the final day at famed Valderrama, sitting at three-over par and outside contention for the title.

At the top of the leaderboard, England’s Tyrrell Hatton took a two-shot advantage into the final round of the event, coming just weeks after celebrating the birth of his first child with his wife Emily.

LIV Golf Andalucia is being played amid a crucial period for the breakaway tour.

It is understood the league have taken their product to market to try and secure fresh investment for the 2027 season.

LIV's primary backers, Saudi Arabia's PIF, announced in March they would no longer fund the venture after the end of the season.
