Tyrrell Hatton capped a memorable fortnight by securing a commanding victory at LIV Golf Andalucía, claiming the individual title at Valderrama just weeks after becoming a father for the first time.
The 34-year-old Englishman signed for a final-round 70 to finish 11-under-par and claim his second LIV Golf title, adding to his breakthrough victory in Nashville in 2024.
Despite slipping to two over for the day through 12 holes, Hatton responded impressively when it mattered most, birdieing three of his final six holes to fend off a late challenge from teammate Jon Rahm.
The win completed a dream week for Hatton, who admitted his thoughts were never far from home as he prepares for life with newborn daughter and wife Emily.
"I thought no matter what happened today, I'd still be going home tonight to a crying newborn and changing nappies," said Hatton.
"I'm really excited to get back and see Emily and our little girl."
Rahm produced the low round of the day with a brilliant four-under 67 to ignite hopes of a home victory in front of the Spanish crowds.
The Legion XIII captain briefly threatened to erase Hatton's advantage but ultimately had to settle for solo second on nine under.
The Spaniard was quick to praise his teammate's performance after the pair finished first and second at one of Europe's most demanding venues.
"Tyrrell has just become a father and it's great to see him enjoying this moment," said Rahm.
"If someone is going to beat me, he's certainly one of the people I'd be happy for. He played outstanding golf and fully deserved the win."
Legion XIII's dominance extended beyond the individual competition as Hatton and Rahm helped guide the team to a second consecutive LIV Golf Andalucía team title.
The quartet finished seven under par for the week, comfortably securing top spot and moving up to second in the season-long standings.
"Courses like Valderrama suit us," Rahm added.
"Ball-striking is a strength throughout the team and that's exactly what's required around here."
Abraham Ancer enjoyed his best result of the LIV Golf season, closing with a three-under 68 to finish third on eight under, while Sergio Garcia delighted local fans with another strong showing at his beloved Valderrama.
Garcia carded a final-round 70 to finish fourth on seven under, extending his remarkable record at the iconic venue.
The Fireballs GC captain has now recorded 18 top-10 finishes in 19 professional appearances at Valderrama.
The battle for LIV Golf's Open Championship exemption also took a dramatic turn on Sunday.
Thomas Detry entered the final round in pole position but a closing 74 saw him slip into a tie for fifth at five under.
That opened the door for Joaquin Niemann, who retained the exemption awarded to the leading LIV Golf player not already exempt for Royal Portrush.
Despite finishing the week at three-over par, Niemann's position of third in the season standings behind Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau was enough to secure his place in The Open.
