LIV Golf Indianapolis Round 1 Leaderboard
LIV Golf Indianapolis First Round Scores: Sebastian Munoz shoots a magical round of 12-under 59 to open up a three-shot lead on Dustin Johnson.
Sebastian Munoz | -12 | 59 |
Dustin Johnson | -9 | 62 |
Joaquin Niemann | -7 | 64 |
Thomas Pieters | -7 | 64 |
Patrick Reed | -7 | 64 |
Cameron Smith | -7 | 64 |
Sebastian Munoz fired the first-ever round of 59 with a double bogey on the card during the first round of LIV Golf Indianapolis at The Club at Chatham Hill.
The stunning round from the Colombian marked the third sub-60 round in LIV Golf League history.
Munoz, 32, now joins Joaquin Niemann who shot a 69 in the first round of 2024 LIV Golf Mayakoba, and Bryson DeChambeau who memorably shot a 58 in the final round of 2023 LIV Golf Greenbier.
The one blip on Munoz's card came with a double-bogey six on the 5th but he most certainly made amends with an unbelievable 14 birdies on the card.
It all added up to a course-record 12-under 59 for the Torque GC player, enough for a commanding three-shot lead over a resurgent Dustin Johnson, who posted an equally impressive 9-under 62.
Munoz is seeking a first LIV Golf title.

LIV Golf season leader Niemann is then one shot back in a tie for third on 7-under par alongside Thomas Pieters, Patrick Reed and Cameron Smith.
Niemann leads Jon Rahm by 12 points heading into this week's regular season finale.
Rahm is the only man who can catch Niemann for the LIV Individual Championship but the Spaniard has it all to do from 4-under par with two rounds to play.
Bryson DeChambeau, who has been shunned a place back on the PGA Tour at the Procore Championship, is also on 4-under par.
An incredible 37 players were under par in the first round of LIV Golf Indianapolis.
Brooks Koepka's woes contined though with a lethargic 5-over 76, which looks to have ended any faint Ryder Cup hopes he may have had.
