Thomas Pieters has brutal response to Jon Rahm LIV Golf exit rumours as Martin Kaymer also speaks
The two LIV Golf players were asked about reports linking Rahm with a shock return to the PGA Tour after this week’s season finale.
Martin Kaymer and Thomas Pieters have offered contrasting verdicts on the growing speculation surrounding Jon Rahm's LIV Golf future, with Pieters delivering a particularly blunt response to the rumours.
Rahm's future has become one of the major talking points ahead of LIV Golf's season finale in Indiana, amid reports that the Spaniard could leave the league and return to the PGA Tour in 2027.
But while Cleeks GC captain Kaymer adopted a cautious approach when asked about the speculation, 4Aces GC's Pieters had a much simpler message for anyone following the latest reports: “You swipe up and you close the app.”

The pair were questioned about Rahm's situation by golf reporter Garrett Johnston, who is covering the final LIV Golf event of the season at The Club at Chatham Hills for NUCLR Golf on X.
Kaymer, who has made clear that he intends to continue playing on LIV next season, admitted he had no inside knowledge about Rahm's plans.
“You never know if it’s true or not. Obviously, I take care of my own stuff,” Kaymer said.
“Is it true what they write? You will only get the truth if you talk to him. I don’t know if he has been asked about it or not. I try to stay out of it.”

Pieters, meanwhile, appeared even less interested in getting drawn into the speculation.
The Belgian dismissed the constant stream of reports and social media claims before admitting he had no idea whether Rahm would remain with LIV in 2027.
“You swipe up and you close the app, that's the right attitude,” Pieters said.
“It's proven to be wrong a lot of the time, with any news. People can tweet whatever they want at this point. We'll see after the season, I don't know.”

The comments from both players come as Rahm's future continues to generate considerable debate.
Rahm joined LIV Golf in 2024 and has won the Individual Championship in all three of his seasons with the league.
However, uncertainty over LIV's financial backing has raised questions about whether the two-time major champion will remain beyond 2026.
The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) is ending its direct funding of LIV Golf past this season, while London-based investment firm BC Partners is understood to be involved in discussions over the league's future.
Reports have suggested the prospective investors want assurances that LIV stars such as Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau will remain.
Telegraph Sport last week reported that sources were becoming increasingly resigned to Rahm's departure, while another report this week claimed he had already agreed terms to return to the PGA Tour. Golf Channel's Eamon Lynch, however, subsequently reported that Rahm and the PGA Tour had not yet spoken.
With the conflicting claims showing no sign of disappearing, Kaymer and Pieters' comments underline the uncertainty surrounding one of LIV Golf's biggest stars.
For now, Rahm himself remains the only person who can provide a definitive answer.
