LIV Golf is facing another legal challenge over unpaid bills, with a media production company suing the league for more than $1.2 million ahead of its 2026 season finale in Indianapolis.

According to Front Office Sports' David Rumsey, Denver-based Fresh Tape Media filed a lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court claiming LIV failed to pay eight invoices linked to its preseason event in Florida.

The complaint alleges that LIV owes more than $1.23 million, including interest.

The latest dispute adds to growing financial pressure surrounding the league, which is already facing questions over its funding and reports of unpaid bills involving other companies and players.

The lawsuit centres on LIV Golf Week 2026, held in West Palm Beach from January 12-14.

Fresh Tape Media handled production and logistics for the event, which featured more than 50 LIV players from all 13 teams.

The company produced promotional content, conducted interviews and says it delivered more than 50,000 images and videos to LIV.

According to the lawsuit, eight invoices became due between January 22 and March 22, ranging from $74,470 to $231,137.40 before interest.

Fresh Tape Media founder and CEO Jared Kleinstein said the company had received positive feedback from LIV after the event and had no reason to expect payment would become an issue.

The company also says it paid all 115 employees and contractors involved.

The lawsuit claims LIV never disputed the invoices and repeatedly indicated that payment had been approved.

However, court documents reportedly show that LIV offered Fresh Tape $200,000 to settle the dispute in May.

That figure was later reduced to $150,000 in June.

Fresh Tape is now pursuing the larger amount through the courts and has also sought measures to restrict access to certain LIV assets.

The case follows a separate lawsuit from former technology partner Mobii Systems Group, which is reportedly seeking more than $1.1 million from LIV over alleged unpaid invoices and breach of contract.

There have also this week been reports of players still waiting payments from the last event at Bedminster.

There have also been unverified claims the league's best player Jon Rahm is considering a shock return to the PGA Tour after three years on LIV Golf.

LIV confirmed earlier today that the individual winner of this week's tournament in Indiana will receive just over $2 million, which is half the amount awarded at previous tournaments.

A further $10m season-long individual championship bonus is being distributed among the top three players, while $30m is available through the season-ending Team Championship.

The reduction in the individual purse comes after LIV cancelled next week's Team Championship in Michigan, which had been scheduled to bring the 2026 campaign to a close.

What would have been $70 million in prize money across Indianapolis and Michigan has gone down to $40.1 million.
