Nelly Korda final round action hit by major broadcast blunder at Chevron Championship
Fans will miss the opening stages of Nelly Korda’s final round at the Chevron Championship due to a significant broadcast gap, despite her holding a commanding five-shot lead.

A significant broadcast blunder around the final round of The Chevron Championship will unfortunately leave golf fans unable to watch a large portion of Nelly Korda’s opening charge on Sunday despite her being in full control of the tournament.
Korda, 27, heads into the final round of the first ladies major of the season at Memorial Park GC in Houston with a commanding five-shot lead and a clear path towards a third career major title.
The American sits at 16-under par and five shots ahead of Patty Tavatanakit, remaining firmly in control of both the championship and her wider ambitions of returning to world number one.
However, frustration has been building on golf social media after it emerged that there will be a substantial gap in live coverage during the most important phase of the tournament.
Due to the NBC broadcast schedule, LPGA fans will miss the early part of Korda’s final round entirely — including what is likely to be the first five holes of her Sunday charge.
Can Korda put the tournament to bed early, or will the chasing pack close the gap? Well, we'll just have to keep it locked to the LPGA website for the first 90 minutes of the American's round.
Golfweek’s Beth Ann Nichols first flagged the issue on X, pointing out that although the final group tees off at 12:08pm ET, live coverage does not begin until 1:30pm ET on Peacock, before switching to NBC from 2:00pm–5:30pm ET.
That creates a significant blackout window during which the leaders will already be well into their rounds but not shown live.
The decision has drawn sharp criticism, with many questioning how such a gap can still exist in a modern major championship broadcast, particularly in 2026.
Away from the controversy, Korda remains in a dominant position and very much in control of her own destiny.
A victory would not only secure her second Chevron Championship and third major title overall, but also see her reclaim the world number one ranking.
She would overtake Jeeno Thitikul with a finish of tied second or better, returning to the summit for a seventh separate spell.
Korda has already spent 108 weeks as world number one and last held the position in August 2025.
Her recent form underlines just how strong her position is. In her four starts prior to this week, she recorded one win and three consecutive runner-up finishes, highlighting a level of consistency few on the LPGA can match.
At the Chevron Championship itself, she has led after each of the first three rounds — becoming the first player to do so by multiple shots since Lorena Ochoa two decades ago.
A win on Sunday would take her to 17 LPGA Tour titles and three major championships, moving her closer to LPGA Hall of Fame qualification, where she currently sits on 22 of the required 27 points.
For now, though, a large portion of the early drama in her final round will unfold out of sight of the viewing public — an unusual and controversial broadcast gap on one of the biggest stages in women’s golf.
