Bryson DeChambeau outlines blueprint to win 'diabolical' Open at Royal Portrush
Bryson DeChambeau told reporters before LIV Golf Dallas he will be far more strategic when he tees it up at next month's Open Championship.
Bryson DeChambeau says he plans to be far more 'strategic' when he takes to Royal Portrush at next month's Open.
DeChambeau will make his eighth appearance in golf's oldest major championship in Northern Ireland in a few weeks' time.
The American, 31, will be among the betting favourites despite struggling in the past when he has played links golf.
His best ever result at The Open came in 2022 when he finished in the top 10 at St Andrews a few months after his switch to LIV.
DeChambeau, who missed the cut at Royal Troon last year, told reporters before LIV's stop in Dallas that Royal Portrush will be 'diabolical'.

"Driver is key on that golf course in wind conditions, in side wind conditions," he said.
"It's going to be a good test of controlling your golf ball, so I've got to be in touch with my game. I've got to have better feel."
DeChambeau went toe-to-toe with Rory McIlroy at the 2025 Masters but his challenge faded in the final round after finding the water at the 11th hole.
Nonetheless, it was still another solid showing for the two-time major champion.
DeChambeau followed his performance at Augusta National with a miwith a T2 finish at the PGA Championship, although he never threatened champion Scottie Scheffler.
He also missed the cut at the US Open by three strokes.
"Disappointed that I haven't won one yet," DeChambeau said when asked to assess his major performances this year.
"I've got to fine tune my game and focus on executing my shots the way I know I can on the golf course. I haven't been doing that recently.
"A little bit more due diligence on my side of the coin. Not taking things for granted and focusing on what I can do to give myself the best chance to win at the British Open.
"Probably being a little more strategic that week."
