English duo Lee Westwood and Harry Hall both punched their tickets into the 153rd Open via Final Qualifiers on Tuesday.

Four sites across the UK hosted 36-hole qualifiers to determine who got to advance for golf's oldest major in two weeks' time.

The 153rd Open returns to Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland from 17-20 July.

Only 20 out of 288 players qualified for The Open via qualifiers at Royal Cinque Ports, West Lancashire, Dundonald Links and Burnham & Berrow.

Five players from each site qualified.

A host of former European Ryder Cup stars, major champions, LIV Golf players and intriguing amateurs were among those taking part.

Of the pick of players to advance, LIV Golf star and European Ryder Cup hero Lee Westwood finished top of the board over at Dundonald.

It means Westwood will now compete in his 19th career Open Championship, and his first since 2022.

Australia's Lucas Herbert won the race over at West Lancashire, as too did South Africa's Dean Burmester at Royal Cinque Ports.

English PGA Tour pro Harry Hall was another notable name to make it through over at Burnham & Berrow.

But sadly there was no success for England's Ian Poulter or his son Luke Poulter, who both came up shy at Royal Cinque Ports.

Both father and son finished the 36-hole event on 1-under par alongside LIV's Graeme McDowell in T13.

YouTube golf star Peter Finch also came up shy on 6-over par in T44 at Dundonald.

LIV Golf players Sam Horsfield and Adrian Meronk both stormed out after tough first rounds.

Horsfield was officially DQ'd, while Meronk retired.
