Butch Harmon wants to work with Charlie Woods — and fire digs at Tiger Woods
Legendary golf coach Butch Harmon admits he would ‘like’ to work with Charlie Woods in the future.

Butch Harmon has claimed he would like the chance to coach Charlie Woods in the future — especially because it would give him the perfect opportunity to needle his former pupil Tiger Woods along the way.
The legendary coach, who guided Tiger through the most dominant spell of his career, says working with Woods’ 16-year-old son would be just as much fun off the range as it would be on it.
“I'd like Tiger to be there when it happens because we could have some fun with that because I'd like to needle Tiger and say 'you know when you were that young you couldn't do it like he's doing it',” Harmon said with a grin.
“You know what his answer would be to me, I can't say it on the phone!”
Harmon coached Tiger Woods from 1993 to 2004, a period that delivered eight major championships, the iconic Tiger Slam and countless PGA Tour wins.
Since then, he has continued to shape some of the biggest names in the modern game, working with stars including Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler.
Now, the Hall of Fame coach has confirmed he would be more than happy to turn his attention to the next Woods — if Tiger ever asked.
Speaking on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio this week, Harmon admitted he has never actually seen Charlie Woods hit balls in person, but his curiosity is growing fast.
“I don't know if I would take it on full-time, but my curiosity makes me want to see the kid as I've never seen him play,” Harmon said.
“He's got the right last name but I'd want to take a look at him for sure.
“Obviously if he asked me to do it then I would be more than happy to do it as I've never had the opportunity to see Charlie play.”

Charlie continues to make headlines in junior golf and is currently weighing up his college options ahead of his expected graduation from The Benjamin School in 2027.
The past season has been the best of his young career. Charlie claimed his first individual AJGA title at the Team TaylorMade Invitational in March, made a spectacular hole-in-one at TPC Sawgrass during the Junior Players Championship, and then fired a closing 68 — the lowest final round score — to help the Benjamin Bucs win the Florida State Championship.
Harmon also revealed he recently heard glowing reports from one of his students.
“I was talking to Rickie [Fowler] about it a couple of weeks ago when we were playing down in Florida and he said Charlie is getting bigger and he hits the ball really far now, and he's going to be a good player.
“So yeah, I would love the opportunity to see it up close and personal.”
Like father, like son? Would Butch Harmon work with Charlie Woods if Tiger asked?
