Brandel Chamblee has torn into Bryson DeChambeau after footage emerged of the U.S. Open champion complaining about the bunkers at LIV's stop in Mexico

DeChambeau and the breakaway tour played Club de Golf Chapultepec for the very first time last week at the seventh stop of the 2025 campaign.

The venue in Naucalpan has played host to numerous World Golf Championships over the years and winners include the likes of Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed

The content king got himself in contention after 36 holes but his challenge faded in the final round and Joaquin Niemann stormed to yet another victory

Footage has now emerged of DeChambeau's practice round earlier in the week in which he was overheard being extremely critical of the bunkers.

"Worst f---ing bunkers ever," DeChambeau said after he struggled to get his golf ball out of one. "The worst."

DeChambeau said the state of the bunkers were so bad he felt that a golfer could end up hurting their wrist. "You can't even get it out," he said. "It's so bad."

Chamblee, unsurprisingly, took a dim view of DeChambeau's explosive rant.

He wrote on X: " A) He signed up for this when he signed on to be a puppet for a murderous dictator and to play a tour that does not value the best conditioned courses, but those that will hold events for a murderous dictator.

B) This is what practice rounds are for.

C) You signed on for hundreds of millions, quit complaining."

Chamblee has never hidden his disdain for LIV, its format and the source of the money that is bankrolling the league.

He was extremely critical of DeChambeau when he joined LIV in the summer of 2022 for a fee understood to be north of $100m.

Chamblee even went as far to question DeChambeau's faith.

"He's [DeChambeau] has been talking about how he's found God and become a Christian and I just wonder how he squares accepting money from a regime that is anti-Christian," previously said.

"You can't pull a Bible out in Riyadh without going to jail. They are misogynistic, they are anti-Semitic, there's no freedom of speech.

"He talks about his charities, about going home to do things, but meanwhile he's taking money from people who oppress the things he purports to stand for, which is philanthropic enterprises. That's where the money is coming from.

"He says he'll have a new legacy. He absolutely will have a new legacy, and it will be tarnished as a 100-year-old silver trophy that has been untouched up in a closet."

Chamblee has since relaxed his views.

After DeChambeau pipped Rory McIlroy to the U.S. Open title last June, Chamblee said the American was 'one of the best things to ever happen to golf'.
