Multiple major champion Padraig Harrington says there's a 'completely different vibe' between Scottie Scheffler and Tiger Woods.

Woods dominated the sport for more than a decade in his pomp and Scheffler, 29, is threatening to do the same.

His Open Championship win two weeks ago at Royal Portrush was his fourth major victory since his breakout 2022 season and now he's only one leg away from completing the career grand slam.

Harrington offered his thoughts on Scheffler's brilliance in the most recent edition of the Sky Sports Golf podcast with Jamie Weir.

The three-time major champ, who won the Senior Open last week at Sunningdale, believes there is a key difference between golf legend Woods and Scheffler.

"With Tiger, every single person when you came up against Tiger, you walked away feeling like, I can't do that," Harrington said. "With Scottie, every single player looks and goes, why can't I do that? It's a different vibe.

"With Scottie, it's just relentless at being himself and doing his thing. Just relentless at it. It's startling how good, and it's a lesson for everybody, just how good you can be if you just focus on what you're doing and do your thing and keep it very simple.

"I would suggest I probably have more swing thoughts on my practise session in one day than he has had in his lifetime. He sticks to the one thing and it's really good.

"Right now, he's unbeatable in what he's doing and how long he can sustain it is the thing, but it looks pretty simple."

Perhaps the only person can truly stop Scheffler is himself.

The golfer explained before The Open that despite being extremely grateful for living out his dreams, winning majors and PGA Tour titles doesn't fulfil the deepest desires of his heart.

"There's more to life than playing golf," Scheffler told reporters in his winning news conference.

Harrington doesn't believe Scheffler's comments necessarily stack up.

"He loves playing with his club mates and friends when he's at home," Harrington said.

"I think the comments don't add up to him personally in terms of he seems to really like playing golf.

"Back in the day, Monty was probably the best ball striker, the best player in Europe. Monty didn't touch a club away from the tournament, didn't do any practise whatsoever, turned up late for the tournament, did no practise at the tournament and played.

"Tiger practised mad away from the tournaments, did nothing at the tournament.

"Scottie seems to play a lot away, so he does seem to really enjoy it. That would be the only thing what's coming down the road.

"If you looked at those words, that would be worrying, but actually, if you looked at the person, I actually think he does enjoy his golf and enjoy everything going on and that would lead to a sustainable career.

"If he keeps up like this for 10 years, we're not just talking about Tiger, we're talking about Jack's record."
