Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland will return to TPC River Highlands on Monday morning to settle the Travelers Championship in a sudden-death playoff after finishing tied at 21-under par.

Scheffler produced a nerveless finish to keep his title hopes alive, holing a clutch seven-foot par putt on the 18th hole to match Hovland's clubhouse total and force extra holes.

The world number one carded a final-round 68, while Hovland signed for a 69 after the pair went head-to-head in Sunday's final group.

Play had already been suspended earlier in the day because of inclement weather, and with darkness falling shortly after the final groups finished, tournament officials ruled there was insufficient light to stage the playoff on Sunday evening.

Scheffler, 30, and Hovland, 28, will instead return on Monday at 9:00am ET (2:00pm BST) to contest the playoff.

The sudden-death format will begin on the par-4 18th, which will be replayed until a winner is determined.

Scheffler heads into the playoff with a 2-2 record in PGA Tour playoffs and is chasing his second victory of the season and the 21st PGA Tour title of his career.

Hovland, who owns a perfect 1-0 playoff record on the PGA Tour, is bidding for his first win of the year and the eighth PGA Tour title of his career.

Behind the leading duo, Collin Morikawa surged through the field with a stunning final-round 61 to claim solo third at 20-under par.

Matt Fitzpatrick continued his outstanding season with a closing 64 to finish alone in fourth on 19-under par, while U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark and Akshay Bhatia shared fifth place on 18-under par after rounds of 65 and 67 respectively.

The Travelers Championship marks the eighth and final Signature Event of the 2026 PGA Tour season.

The winner of Monday's playoff will earn $3.6 million, with $2.16 million going to the runner-up.
