What is Patrick Cantlay's Ryder Cup record?

Patrick Cantlay will once again be a key figure for the US Ryder Cup team if Keegan Bradley's dozen are to triumph at Bethpage Black. 

The pantomime villain of the 2023 Ryder Cup in Italy will be making his third appearance for the red, white and blue in New York. 

Cantlay, 33, made his debut for Team USA at Whistling Straits and has since established himself as an extremely reliable team member built for the big moments. 

The Californian went unbeaten on debut, picking up 3.5 points as Steve Stricker's side ran out record 19-9 winners in Wisconsin. 

Cantlay teamed up with Xander Schauffele in the foursomes and the pair defeated Rory McIlroy/Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood/Matthew Fitzpatrick. 

Cantlay and Justin Thomas shared a point in their four-balls match with Tommy Fleetwood/Viktor Hovland. 

He then delivered an emphatic 4&2 victory over Shane Lowry in the Sunday singles. 

Two years later, at Marco Simone, Cantlay was a bright spark in an otherwise abject team performance. 

Cantlay and 2023 US Open champion Wyndham Clark were involved in a memorable match against the aforementioned McIlroy and Fitzpatrick. 

The four-balls match was overshadowed by the European fans' treatment of Cantlay, with thousands waving their caps at the US golfer.

An unsubstantiated report suggested Cantlay wasn't wearing a team cap in protest over American players not being compensated.

Cantlay got the last laugh though - he birdied the final their holes of their match to secure a narrow win for his side. 

Elsewhere, he reprised his partnership with Schauffele in the foursomes but the pair were defeated twice. 

Cantlay kept his 100 per cent record in the Sunday singles by defeating Justin Rose 2&1.
