Sam Burns has received one of Keegan Bradley's six captain's picks on the 2025 US Ryder Cup team, according to NUCLR Golf.

Burns, 29, finished 16th on the US Ryder Cup team standings.

Despite falling well short of the top six automatic spots on the team, Burns has strung together two impressive performances on the PGA Tour.

Burns finished tied fourth at the BMW Championship before a tie for seventh at the Tour Championship on Sunday.

"I know whatever decision he [Bradley] makes is going to be one that he thinks is best for the team," said Burns after the FedEx Cup finale at East Lake.

"Ultimately, I’m Team USA. If I’m on the team, awesome. I would love nothing more. If I’m not, I’ll be rooting for them."

Should news be made official of Burns' selection then it will mark his second straight appearance on the Ryder Cup team.

The big-hitting American took one point from three during the United States' crushing five-point loss to Europe in Rome in 2023.

Burns, who is ranked 22nd in the world, has also played on the last two US Presidents Cup teams.

The five-time PGA Tour winner regularly plays golf with his good friend and World No.1 Scottie Scheffler, so we will likely see them pair up at least a couple of times at the 2025 Ryder Cup.

Bradley will officially reveal his six captain's picks to the world on Wednesday.

NUCLR Golf tweeted: "Sources familiar tell NUCLR GOLF that Sam Burns has received the call from Captain Keegan Bradley to play for Team USA at Bethpage Black. Burns is ranked #16 in the U.S. team standings and is set to make his 2nd Ryder Cup appearance."

Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay are also expected to receive picks from Bradley.

The biggest question surrounds whether Bradley will indeed pick himself to play on the US Ryder Cup team.

Should Bradley elect to play on the team, then he will become the first playing-captain at the Ryder Cup since late great Arnold Palmer in 1963.

Bradley gave a predictable response after the Tour Championship on Sunday.

Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, JJ Spaun, Russell Henley, Bryson DeChambeau and Harris English qualified automatically for Bradley's team.

European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald will confirm his six picks on Monday 1 September.

Rory McIlroy, Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntyre and Rasmus Hojgaard have qualified automatically for Donald's team.

The 2025 Ryder Cup takes place at Bethpage in New York from 26-28 September.
