Ryder Cup 2025: Weather forecast for Thursday 25 September at Bethpage

If the world's best players are in search of some last-minute tinkering at the Ryder Cup on Thursday, they are likely going to have to do it with rain gear on at Bethpage. 

Showers and scattered thunderstorms are unfortunately the order of the final practice day at the Ryder Cup.

Conditions are expected to get so bad that tournament officials brought forward the Ryder Cup Opening Ceremony to Wednesday afternoon. 

The Opening Ceremony saw United States captain Keegan Bradley make a shocking mistake during his speech and European captain mock the Americans over chasing prize money.

There will be ample chance for players to get some practice in on Thursday, but if truth be told the outlook is wet and wild until Friday's foursomes where things will brighten up at Bethpage Black. 

The early hours of Thursday look especially unsettled, with showers and thunderstorms sweeping across Long Island. 

Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau are just three star names who will be speaking to the media on Thursday morning. 

Into the afternoon and intermittent rain remains a constant feature, backed by steady southerly winds of 8–13 mph. 

Temperatures will be mild in the low 70s, but the dampness and humidity could make Bethpage feel heavy underfoot, softening the fairways and further lengthening what is already a brute of a golf course. 

Bradley and Donald will announce their foursomes pairings just after 4pm local time on Thursday, likely somewhere under cover. 

Showers are expected to ease slightly in the late afternoon but scattered thunderstorms are once again forecast for the evening. 

Golf fans planning to attend the action should pack waterproofs and expect muddy walking conditions.
