Bob MacIntyre cracks up golf reporters with four-word Donald Trump claim
Scotland's Bob MacIntyre is most certainly not letting the noise of Donald's Trump arrival on Friday distract his preparations at the Ryder Cup.
Scotland's Bob MacIntyre cracked up reporters as he closed out his press conference at the Ryder Cup with a four-word claim about Donald Trump.
United States President Trump is scheduled to arrive at Bethpage Black for the fourballs session on Friday afternoon.
MacIntyre, who is making his second straight appearance on the European Ryder Cup team, was asked for his thoughts about Trump, who has regularly confessed about being proud of his Scottish heritage.
Despite being the sole Scottish representative in Luke Donald's squad, it's fair to say MacIntyre, 29, is completely unflustered by Trump's arrival.
"I just play golf. I don't -- politics and stuff is out of my -- I mean, I'm not bright enough, for one, to be worrying about politics," said an honest MacIntyre.
"I'm worrying more about what goes on this week on the golf course.
"Yeah, as a European, we've got a job to do, and yeah, try and compete as hard as we can and hopefully win the Ryder Cup."
The reporter then followed up with: "So you don't find it a distraction?"
MacIntyre replied: "It's just another spectator..." as he got up and left his press conference to the cries of laughter in the media centre.
Ahead of Trump rocking up to Bethpage Black on Friday afternoon, Ryder Cup officials have ramped up security procedures.
A number of items have been banned from entering the course and clubhouse area, including golf rangedinders and large umbrellas.
Justin Rose spoke much more glowingly about Trump's appearance at the Ryder Cup during his press conference on Wednesday.
Rose also shed more light on how Trump is likely going to get around the course.
The Englishman does not believe Trump's arrival will cause too much of a distraction for the players during Friday's fourballs session.

MacIntyre performed admirably on his Ryder Cup debut in Rome in 2023.
He went an unbeaten 2-0-1 for the week.
MacIntyre might be winless on the PGA Tour in 2025 but he has performed consistently well of late as he arrives at Bethpage.
He has vaulted up into the world's top 10 as a result to a current ninth position.
