Ryder Cup Europe has today confirmed the qualification process for Team Europe's defence of the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in 2027.

The race for places on Luke Donald's team will begin at the Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo at The Belfry from 27-30 August, marking the start of a year-long qualification campaign.

The 2027 Ryder Cup will mark the 100th anniversary of the biennial contest.

Eligible DP World Tour members will earn Ryder Cup points across DP World Tour and PGA Tour events until the qualification period concludes on Sunday, August 22, 2027.

The final qualifying events will be confirmed once both tours release their 2027 schedules later this year.

The top six players on the Ryder Cup Points List at the end of the qualification period will automatically secure their places in Team Europe.

Donald will then complete his 12-man squad with six captain's picks during the week beginning 30 August 2027.

"The start of qualification is always a notable milestone in the Ryder Cup journey, so I am delighted to confirm details of our process for the 2027 European Team," said Donald.

"We have a lot of talented European players at the moment, some with Ryder Cup experience and others who will be trying to qualify for the first time. I am really looking forward to watching them compete over the next 12 months for a place on Team Europe.

"Next year's Ryder Cup at Adare Manor promises to be very special for so many different reasons. It will mark the 100-year anniversary of the Ryder Cup, and we will have the support of the Irish crowds, who are among the best in the world. Those factors will only add to the motivation of our European players to ensure they are part of it."

Europe will be aiming to win a third successive Ryder Cup when they face the United States at Adare Manor in County Limerick from 17-19 September 2027, having lifted the trophy at Marco Simone in 2023 before successfully defending it at Bethpage Black in 2025.

Should Europe win the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, then Donald will become the first captain in history to win the cup three times in a row. Donald currently holds a share of the captaincy record for two wins in a row alongside Tony Jacklin.
