How to watch LIVE coverage of Round 3 of The Masters at Augusta National

The third round of the 2026 Masters tees off on Saturday 11 April, with defending champion Rory McIlroy holding a commanding advantage at Augusta National — and closing in on a rare piece of history.

McIlroy surged into a record-setting position on Friday, carding a brilliant seven-under 65 that featured birdies on six of his final seven holes. 

The Northern Irishman heads into the weekend at 12-under par, six shots clear of the field — the largest 36-hole lead in Masters history.

Victory this week would see McIlroy become just the fourth player in Masters history to win back-to-back titles, joining Jack Nicklaus (1966), Nick Faldo (1990) and Tiger Woods (2002).

A chasing pack including Patrick Reed, Justin Rose, Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood and Jason Day remain in contention but face a significant deficit with two rounds to play.

Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau’s challenge ended in dramatic fashion. 

A costly triple bogey at the 18th hole on Friday saw him miss the cut and exit the tournament before the weekend.
