Intrigued to learn who has earned the most money in Masters Tournament history? Well you have arrived at the right place as GolfMagic has listed the top 10 for career earnings at famed Augusta National in this article.

In a statistic that neatly captures both the evolution of The Masters and the remarkable consistency of its greatest players, Phil Mickelson is the all-time leader when it comes to most prize money received from golf's first major of the season.

Mickelson’s career total of $9.87 million banked at The Masters places him just ahead of Tiger Woods, who has amassed $9.64 million. Mickelson has three green jackets, and Woods has five.

The gap in career Masters money is marginal, but significant enough to underline the value of longevity and repeated high finishes at a venue where both players have built their legacies.

The timing of the statistic feels particularly notable this week given the 2026 Masters will take place without both Mickelson and Woods in the field for the first time since 1994.

Woods has stepped away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on his health following a car crash and resulting DUI arrest in Florida, and LIV Golf's Mickelson has taken an extended period out of the sport to deal with a family health matter.

Mickelson has reached a Masters record $9.87m in 32 appearances at Augusta National, while Woods got to his haul of $9.64m in 26. Mickelson could very well be replaced at the top of the all-time money list this Sunday though.

That's because defending champion Rory McIlroy is third on the list with $8.54 million, narrowly ahead of tournament favourite Scottie Scheffler on $8.05 million. Scheffler is seeking a third green jacket in the last five years.

McIlroy is making his 18th Masters appearance this week, while Scheffler is making just his seventh.

Justin Rose, who was narrowly defeated by McIlroy 12 months ago, rounds out the top five on the list with $6.69 million. Rose is making his 21st appearance this week.

Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson and two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson make up the top 10 on the list.

Rose is the only player in the top 10 without a green jacket. The Englishman has agonisingly finished runner-up at Augusta three times, including two playoff losses to McIlroy (2025) and Sergio Garcia (2017).

The contrast with earlier eras is striking, of course with inflation and the prize money involved in the sport today. Jack Nicklaus, despite winning The Masters a record six times, earned $772,359 across his career at Augusta National — a figure that places him nowhere near the top 100, let alone the top 10. Nicklaus won his six green jackets between 1963 and 1986.

McIlroy won a record $4.2m when winning The Masters for the first time in 2025, a win that saw him become the sixth player in the modern era to complete the career grand slam.

Scheffler, McIlroy. Rose and Spieth all have a chance to oust Mickelson from top spot in all-time earnings at The Masters this Sunday.
