Tiger Woods' son Charlie Woods, 16, fails to come through the first stage of U.S. Open qualifying for the second year in a row.

Tiger Woods' son Charlie Woods failed to qualify to the second stage of U.S. Open qualifying on Monday 5 May.
Charlie Woods, 16, shot a 3-over 75 on the Johnny Miller-designed championship course at Wellington National, Florida.
It saw the son of Tiger Woods finish seven shots outside of the five qualifying spots from the tournament.
Arth Sinha finished top of the board courtesy of a solid 6-under 66.
He finished one shot ahead of Matthew Marigliano.
Tyler Stachkunas, Carson Kiawonn and Michael Gligic picked up the final three spots into the second qualifying stage for the U.S. Open.
The five qualifiers now advance to a one-day, 36-hole final qualifier at Emerald Dunes in West Palm Beach on 2 June.
Charlie also failed to come through the first stage of U.S. Open qualifying last season.
That was his first attempt.
He finished with a 9-over 81 at the Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Port St Lucie in last year's U.S. Open qualifying event.
Charlie is next expected to tee it up in competition at the Team TaylorMade Invitational from 25-28 May.
It's being reported that the USGA received a record 10,202 entries into this year's U.S. Open.
The 2025 U.S. Open, golf's third major of the season, takes place at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania from 12-15 June.
Golf's second major of the season, the PGA Championship, takes place next week at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte.

Dad Woods, 49, is out of competitive action for the rest of the 2025 season.
Woods, a 15-time major champion, recently confirmed he had undergone surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles.
He is now not expected to return to the game until he turns 50 at the end of the year.
Woods is likely to take up a card next season on the PGA Tour Champions, the over 50s circuit where he can ride in a golf cart.
The former World No.1 made an announcement ahead of next week's PGA Championship.
