Quinta do Lago is offering the perfect way for families to celebrate Portugal’s Father’s Day and the Easter holidays in style by giving away free rounds of golf to their children.

To make sure festivities go with an added swing, fathers are being invited to bring one of their kids along to play 18 holes of golf at the popular family resort on Tuesday March 19 and between March 25 and April 5, but only pay for one round.

The offer is available to juniors up to the age of 17 and extends to all three of Quinta do Lago’s championship lay-outs – the North and South courses and Laranjal, one of the new emerging stars of Portuguese golf.

Amongst its long list of accolades, the renowned South Course has hosted the Portuguese Open no fewer than eight times and was shortlisted for the Best Course in Portugal at the 2012 Portuguese Travel Awards, following in the footsteps of Laranjal which won the award 12 months earlier.

Rita Jordão, golf and hospitality sales manager at Quinta do Lago, said: “We are very proud of our reputation as a family resort and wanted to do something special to mark this year’s Father’s Day.

“With us, dads have the chance to spend some quality time with their kids and what could be better than doing so on the golf course, with a round of golf absolutely free.”

Quinta do Lago has firmly established itself as one of the most highly regarded golf and real estate developments in the Algarve since opening in 1972.

Located just 15 minutes from Faro airport and sitting amongst 2,000 acres of the picturesque Ria Formosa Natural Park, the resort offers residents and guests an unparalleled location benefiting from a year-round temperate climate, a variety of lifestyle pursuits and a strong sense of community.

Since its inception, Quinta do Lago has been at the forefront of golf in the Algarve with its three 18-hole championship courses matched by outstanding practice facilities.

The North Course’s terrain is typical of the area, with umbrella pines, heather and wild flowers combining seamlessly with well-positioned bunkers and water hazards, while Laranjal, opened in 2008, has been carved from the grounds of an orange grove and its dramatic landscape provides a pure golfing experience.

Quinta do Lago is home to the only Paul McGinley Academy in the world which, with regular input from Europe’s 2014 Ryder Cup captain, features the latest in state-of-the-art swing analysis technology at its TaylorMade fitting centre and first-class practice facilities.
