Marriott and De Vere head 59 Club awards
59 Club awards scooped by the two big guns
Marriott and De Vere scooped up the accolades at the annual 59 Club Awards, which highlights the excellent work that takes place within golf venues across the country.
The ceremony was attended by the UK's leading independent and private golf clubs along with leading golf and hotel groups from within the 59 Club system.
Marriott collected Golf Group of the Year, Most Improved Food & Beverage Experience at St Pierre, Best Presented and Tastiest Food at Tudor Park and a Gold Flag award for the stunning Forest of Arden.
De Vere, meanwhile, saw The Belfry - host venue for the night - claim four awards including the honour of being named Best Venue - The Ultimate UK Golf Experience.
Further awards for De Vere included Slaley Hall in Northumberland, which picked up Sales Team of the Year and the Silver Flag Award, while Carden Park in Cheshire was named Golf Membership Team of the Year.
The Belfry also won awards for the Golf Operation Team of the Year, Leading Individual Performance by a Golf Operation Team, as well as the prestigious Gold Flag Award, underlining a highly-successful evening for the four-time Ryder Cup host venue, which is currently undergoing a major £30 million refurbishment.
The award for Best Greens went to Wentworth’s Edinburgh Course.
